Asamoah Gyan the nations all time top scorer with 34 goals.

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan leapfrogged Abedi Pele as the nations all time top scorer following his brace in the 3:1 victory over Sudan in a 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier in Omdurman. Gyan now has 34 goals, one better than the former Ghana captain, Abedi's, thus ending the record that has stood for over a decade. There is however some controversy about the record as some football pundits reckon other former Black Stars players may have scored more goals than Abedi Pele but those records are yet to be verified.
