Erasmus Kwaw, the Managing Editor of Liquid Sports Ghana, has been awarded a scholarship to study the Diploma in Development Journalism (DJ) programme at the prestigious Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) at New Delhi, India.

Mr. Kwaw is the only Ghanaian among a diverse and accomplished group of media, public relations, communication and journalism scholars from 17 countries who have been selected as part of the 70th batch of the DJ programme.

The participants are drawn from Afghanistan, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Jordan, Mongolia, Nepal, Nigeria, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

Mr. Kwaw has over 14 years’ experience in media, public relations, communication and journalism in a career that has seen him work in various capacities at Citi FM, Skyy Power FM, the Ghana Athletics Association, Ghana Olympic Committee, British Council. ETV Ghana, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, and more.

Currently, he is the Managing Editor of Ghana based website Liquid Sports Ghana which specializes in sports for development causes. Liquid Sports Ghana are the organises of the annual Liquid Sports Ghana Awards and the awe inspiring mentorship programme “Making it Happen” which was last held at the Mfantsipim School in Cape Coast on 21st July.

IIMC has trained around 1,573 journalists and communicators from more than 125 countries in its Development Journalism programme till now.

The IIMC is always ranked first in the top five journalism schools out of hundreds of communication and journalism colleges/programs in India. It offers Post Graduate Diploma programmes in different streams of journalism and PR/Advertising.
The DJ course is sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. It starts in August and ends in December, 2018.
