African women’s triple jump champion Nadia Eke made her much anticipated bow at the IAAF World Championship London 2017,  jumping 13.54m in Group B of the women’s triple jump qualification.

Nadia missed out on a place in the finals after failing to hit the 14m qualification mark.

Nadia, who holds the Ghana national triple jump record of 13.93m, had her work cut out going to the World’s knowing she needed to punch above her weight to advance to the final.

She came to the championships ranked 34th among the top jumpers on the globe.

She was keen to pick out positives from her first participation at the Worlds in London 2017 with this post on her Facebook page:

“Watched #beijing2015 on tv, watched #rio2016 on TV and promised myself that would be my last time spectating . Today I competed in my first World Championship and although it didn’t go as well as I wanted to, it is safe to say the future is bright!! . So grateful to all those that have been in my corner since day 1, couldn’t do it without you, and for the non believers stay tuned. We Will be back better than ever! 💋💋💋💋#sealedwithakiss #london2017 #iaafworldchampionships #itsnotoveryet #Godstime
