The road to Beach Volleyball glory at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) has become clearer for 24 competing nations and thousands of ticket holders, following the release of the official match schedule for the preliminary rounds of the competition.

The match schedule, sanctioned by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), reveals the draw for the 36 match preliminary stage of the men’s and women’s competitions from 6-9 April before the quarter final stage commences on 10 April.

The Australian men’s and women’s teams will both open their accounts on day one of competition, with the Australian women taking on Cyprus in the afternoon session and the Australian men facing Fiji in the final match of the evening session.

Top ranked women’s nation Canada will play Fiji in their opening clash on day one, while the top ranked Canadian men will take on Sierra Leone in the afternoon session on day one.

Each nation will play three matches during the preliminary stage of the competition, with the two highest-ranked teams from each pool and the two best third-ranked teams from all pools advancing to the quarter final phase.
Tickets for the first ever Beach Volleyball competition to be held at a Commonwealth Games have already been exhausted, with more than 60,000 tickets sold overall.

However, spectators now have the opportunity to purchase Premium Hospitality experiences, which have been made available at the Beach Volleyball and seven other GC2018 sports.
