It was a case of so near, yet so far for Team South Africa at Doha 2019 as defending world champion Luvo Manyonga missed out on a place on the podium in the men’s long jump after placing 4th with 8.28m.

Jamaica’s Tajay Gayle upset favourite Juan Miguel Echevarria to win gold with a splendid world leading 8.69m.
