110m hurdles specialist Barnabas Dompreh had a lot to celebrate after achieving a personal best of 14.35(PB) to win the men’s 110m hurdles invitation at the CAA Region II Championships in Cape Coast.

Dompreh and Eric Annobil were initially locked in a tight battle for the first 30 meters of the race, but the GAF man pulled clear after about 50 meters as Annobil lost second place to Baaba Seidu.

The GAF’s athlete’s performance was 0.9s better than his previous best of 14.44s. But it fell short of the 14.20s qualification mark for the African Seniors championships at Mauritius 2022.

He was followed in second place by the Ashanti region’s Baaba Seidu Mamoud who stopped the clock at 11.66s while Eric Annobil of the University for Development Studies settled for third with 14.73s.
