Despite missing out of the IAAF World Championships London 2017 through injury, Ghanaian 400m runner Emmanuel Dasor is hoping to bounce back harder.

The former Western Kentucky University student sustained a knee injury a day before he was scheduled to participate in the men’s 400m heats at London 2017.

He was declared unfit to compete by an IAAF Medical Officer, ruling him out of the Worlds.

The sad episode brought to an end Dasor’s dreaming of making his debut at the World’s, having raced at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and the Africa Championships in his young career.

He qualified for the 400m with a life time best 45.43s earlier in the year. He made a post on his Facebook page describing the heartbreak of missing out on the global showpiece championships:

“Not what I wanted but God knows best. Training all year and just less then 24 hours to compete and things turn upside down but everything happens for a reason and I Believe is not my time yet but soon will be. Thanks to everyone who wished me luck and waited to watch me run which didn’t happen due to injury. I will bounce back Harder than ever. #TheReturen #IBelieve
