Sprints legend Usain Bolt will go on a lap of honour at the London Olympic stadium in what is expected to be his farewell to the sport after announcing plans to retire at the end of the season.

Bolt and his Jamaican 4x100m relay team crashed out of the final yesterday after he sustained an injury moments after picking up the baton in the home straight.

He left the track unceremoniously, waving the crowd briefly before disappearing into the tunnel without speaking to the media.

A statement released by the organisers of London 2017 said:

“Usain Bolt will hold a 15-minute media conference in the Media Conference Room at the Stadium this evening (Sunday) at 21:45 after his lap of honour. He will not be passing through the mixed zone.”
